During summer, the lovers of deep-sea fishing can hire well-equipped fishing boats and go mackerel and tuna fishing. Between 5:00 and 6:30 am, plenty of motorships sail from the harbour of Cattolica. Among these, Brigantino II, Buster and, on Thursday morning, Queen Elisabeth itself.
Brigantino gives fishermen the possibility to go clam and mussel fishing. It leaves from the harbour at 6:00 am or 12:30 am. When the weather is fine, the boat arranges evening excursions which last from 20:30 up 23:30 and also include the possibility to eat grilled fish on board.
Tourists flocking to Cattolica and its harbour will have the possibility to get to know the secrets of professional fishing and mariculture. Sailing together with skilled fishermen, they will have the opportunity to disentangle fish from the nets and then cook and eat traditional products from the Adriatic Sea while sipping fine local wines.
Well-equipped fishing boats (even without line and reel) give both expert and amateur fishermen the possibility to go deep-fishing and fish tunas, blue sharks, mackerels, sardines and anchovies. Once set foot on land again, fishermen will have the opportunity to taste traditional fish specialities, such as local maccheroncini and grilled fish!
